Do Not Buy a Bike Online

I shopped around online for weeks, looking for the perfect ride, and found an 85 Yamaha Venture Royale with a trike kit in November. It's been in the shop twice, over $1700 in repairs and less than 50 miles. Disgusted.

Thanks for taking my call and taking the time to explain your situation with me in person.  As we discussed, it is often challenging to best address these issues effectively when a purchase is made long distance and shipped from our location.  Therefore, it was good to talk through your frustrations.  It is not our normal course of business to sell units without allowing the customer to first ride and inspect them.  We take pride in analyzing our used units and strive to do the best to ensure that they are in the best condition possible.  As we discussed, it’s difficult to catch everything, especially when it involves a 30 year old motorcycle.  Having said that, as I promised, I have relayed our phone conversation with the owner and he will be following up to discuss the situation with you as well.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or thoughts you’d like to share.
